Where is the Music Industry Going? By Jerry Banberger

Where is the Music Industry Going?: In order to figure out where the Industry is going, we need to look back to see where it has come from.

My earliest recollection is of 78 rpm platters, pressed on one side, with warnings from my parents, not to touch under pain of severe consequences.

Rock 'n Roll brought us 45's pressed on 7 inch discs, with an "A" side (extensive air play) and "B" side (who ever listened except for the curious?). Tracks hardly ever exceeded 3 and a half or 4 minutes which gave program directors plenty of time for commercials on AM radio. We rushed home from school to watch American Bandstand, and hear the latest releases from the hottest groups.

One day FM radio was born, and along came 12" LP's (33-1/3 rpm). We traded our Hi-Fi's for Stereos, put our 45's in the corner and started collecting albums. We also needed cassette tapes of the same albums to play in our cars, and some of us bought the ill-fated 8-track tapes and players. Some can still be found in yard sales, everywhere.

Disco changed our lives by introducing longer tracks (up to 18 minutes), which didn't seem to bother program directors and DJ's on FM. 12" singles replaced the 7" 45's and along came the wonderful world of Compact Discs, requiring the purchase of yet another piece of equipment, and launching the never ending discussions about Analog vs. Digital. Ah yes, I remember it well.

One glorious day, Mtv showed up on Cable TV, and the record labels supported their major acts with lavishly produced videos, which could be seen in the comfort of your home, or in clubs everywhere, creating the need for another awards show. I'm sure it wasn't legal to do so, but many fans made VHS (or Betamax) copies of their favorite music videos.

Today's age of miniaturization has made it possible for us to store music tracks and videos on an MP3 player that can easily fit into a pocket, with hardly showing a bulge. Everyone with a cam corder and editing software can create a music video and put it up on YouTube for all to see, for free. Record company A & R executives no longer need to go to showcase venues, which seem to be fewer in number, to search for new artists. It's all just a click away.

So what's next... Mental Telepathy?

Ryo Utasato and Shade Law The Magic Behind Their Album

Ryo’s Home Studio is a perfect balance between technical and actual instrumentation. While Shade remains high tech in programming with Native Instruments, Sony Acid 5, and Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD. Both Artists however, do come together in harmony with Shade’s intensity and Ryo’s depth of soul; they end up making a fantastic Soundtrack collaboration.  In their own individual rights, they both are consummate professionals and hail from the Motion Picture Industry.

Ryo Utasato is a composer, singer and writer. Ryo began listening to the music of her father's classical guitar, and her mother's folk singing along with the samisen from the age of 3. Her grandfather is half Japanese Ainu and at the age of 14 Ryo started singing in a rock band and by 18 she was singing professionally with a foreign artist and appearing on Japanese TV. At 28 her career expanded to include composing music for film and television, such as the theme for World Heritage, and others. Her original soundtracks have been used in sci-fi, historical, drama, horror and action films & TV. As a singer, her style is best identified with world music, ethnic singing, and ancient singing of Japan, healing new age, pop and rock. She respects the history and culture of all races on this earth which is deeply expressed in her music.

Shade Law is brand new to the Internet Music scene; she basically started to write Music because of You Tube's rules and regulations about Music with Video. Not really understanding why certain Music could not be used.... a good friend of hers suggested that she writes her own. Hence Shade started her own adventure at Reverbnation with her trusted band members, "MAGIX16 AND ACID5, "Cakewalk," Samplitude Silver Soundcloud Edition, and Native Instruments, just joined her team of technology. Shade now enjoys her own Music with the Films and Videos she creates with her Film-Video Partner at Striking Concept Films-Video and her own Film Company Knight Productions [a Social Concern Film Company,] as well. Anything to not get into trouble at You Tube LOL.

Now, being retired from Warner Brothers Studios… Shade focuses on not only writing music through technology but once she started Devotions Recording; Shade now wishes to enhance her Artists through Film and Videos. Ever mindful of what works in Film [which is her Labels chief concern] she presses ever forward to hit that pentacle of quality which could open the doors to Games and Films. “If you can make it in Film, you can make it anywhere,” is what her old Teacher and Boss Larry Lashanski always taught her, and her mind cannot be shifted from that lesson. Film is the pentacle; all other modems are just that, other avenues. Because the standard of Gaming is now equal to Films [because of Adobe After Effects] it is a Market that she studies for the potential of her Artists and herself to enter.

Ryo and Shade met at Reverbnation and started a deep friendship as they enjoyed each others work, Shade asked Ryo if she could do a Video for one of her works, and from there they began to work on "East Meets West," it was Ryo who then suggested after the completion of the song "East Meets West" that they do an entire Album. Hence "East Meets West the Album" came about. Produced at two ends of the World LUNE Muzik.JP where Ryo resides and Devotions Recording in the US where Shade resides. Two worlds, many experiences, enjoy “East Meets West theAlbum." "Thank You For Your Kind Support and Purchase of our Digital Download."

LOOK OUT HUMOR IS RUNNING RAMPANT WITH OLD FOLKS

Devotions Recording Admins and I are not just all work and no play, and least not me... I do a lot of PR, Film, and Music work, and my close Friend Patti keeps me in humor when all else fails to get me to take breaks. Breaks that require being away from what I am doing now. Blogging, which is one more tool to help my Artists grow and my Readers understand more about the hearts of Artists. Mmmmmm I might be getting to old for this...  anywayyyyyy I digressed.

Patti and I are close in age so this of course made both of us roll on the floor. YEP I for sure LMAO and almost peed myself! It got me to thinking though, how much we take ourselves too seriously in our work. It becomes too technical and then winds up becoming lack luster to say the least. So for the Tip Of The Day I suggest, do the last thing on the chore list and get offline. I mean really folks stay on line all day [and night] something might be a bit wrong with that.... Six hour Events, chatting with their friends, or building stuff [like WebSites, Blogs, Reviews, or Sales Tickets]. The Internet is a great tool folks, but really let's not overdue it, or we just might forget who WE really are. Get a good nights rest older Ladies... all is well with your Grand-kids. Blessings and have a Great weekend!

Research and Devlopment in the World Called The Internet

Success, what is it in relation to the Internet? On Facebook it may be the number of Friends, Likes, Groups like "I Like It" where Andrew Skelton's Radio Show is followed heavily by, or Shares. On You Tube it is the Subscribers and Film-Video hits. On Internet "Shows" it is carrying an Audience of Listeners. But what is success for Blogs?

Two performance levels gauge Blogs. If advertisers are interested in attaching to the Blogs (click through rates are shown in both Google Analytics and Google Adsense also dealt with by Google). And if Readers find the Blogs to their liking and further subscribe. So ya have this "Blog." Most find Blogs irritating at best and non-relational to their needs at most, ohhhhh not good. Why do certain Blogs rock the Blogisphire charts and others plummet into oblivion? Writing is key to Blogging, if your a good Writer and can convey your thoughts well, you should do ok. If it's just blaa-blaa-blaa for the sake of getting out "whatever" then no your Blog is boring. Enter what most folks do not do!!!! RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT!

The phrase research and development (also known as R and D or R&D), according to the OECD, refers to "creative work undertaken on a systematic basis in order to increase the stock of knowledge, including knowledge of man, culture and society, and the use of this stock of knowledge to devise new applications".[1]

Research and development is often scientific or toward the development of particular technologies and is frequently carried out as corporate or governmental activity.

Ok that's a bunch of blaa, blaa, blaa let's break this down. A) GOOD WRITING... Your a good Writer so ya pass the first step of "being able to convey your message well to others, without being able to speak to them directly [remember this is a Blog-Writing] the readers cannot hear your intentions." What is need now is B, C, D, and E so let's hit it!

If A) is being a good Writer... then B is simple.... Knowledge, be knowledgeable about what your talking about. RESEARCH what you do not know! RESEARCH your Audience! Develop very strongly your Knowledge Base about said topic.

Face it it's quite embarrassing when a friend ask you to share something, and you don't want to because it's all over the place. This goes right into C) DEVELOPMENT: Creative Development. This is just not for Business, this is for Artists everywhere no matter their craft. What's your Audience like, more Graphics, some Videos, some core substantiation that you know what the hell your talking about? All of these "emotional gauges" [because Blogs that are successful touch the mind and heart] also play into presenting a good Blog where your Readers are not bored out of their minds! So get with understanding how to connect with Film-Video Makers, Writing Coaches, and Graphic Artists to spruce thing up a bit. Develop - develop - develop your CONCEPT'S INTENTIONS.

Yes this leads right into D) CONCEPT and it's INTENTION if you walk into an Art Gallery the Concept will either attract you or push you away... why? It goes to the bottom-line what is the Intention of the show? What is the Concept and your Intention of the Blog? It should be quite evident from it's presentation from Banner to Side Bar Information to Articles themselves. A Blog is like a Gallery of Events. Only Written. Which leads to the Final step E...

E) CONNECTION-KEY WORDS.  If your not placing you name in your Key Words, then your asking Google to leave you in the dust of "key words that die along the wayyyyy." Your Name is a Brand, your Companies Name is a Brand, if your a Label YOUR ARTISTS are a BRAND. Therefore to get those little Spiders attention the body of your story should include the key words of the Topic and include related Brands or Affiliates to the Brand. I.E: Andrew Skelton is a Devotions Recording Artist. His Affiliation is not only with Devotions Recording but "I Like It" on Facebook because of his Radio Show hosted and pushed by "I Like It" on Facebook. So my intention is set towards the end of this Article, as well as it's information. Here at the end is when I set the intention into the Spider world of Google with Key Words, I connect further and attach to larger Articles of this nature to mine with backlinks and Key Words.

And now I will connect even further to this wonderful man with one of his Songs, realizing that if the readers enjoy the full package of information of the Article, they may enjoy even further the Music of Andrew and yes there might even be a sale for him. You see my readers know that because they have followed the Articles here and elsewhere and particularly know my style of writing and presentation. So for you new readers EnJoY have Fun and links are always provided if you enjoy a Devotions Recording Artist.

The Dynamic Duo Michael Hartman and the Appendages and Mark Hoevet

Truly a man with a sense of humor, yes when you visit his ReverbnationProfile ya get this Bio; “congratulations!! You’re the 100,000th person to visit this site!! You’ve won a zircon encrusted spatula!!!! simply click here, answer a few hundred simple questions, give me all of your personal information i.e. bank account number, social security number, all credit card information including routing numbers, and mother's maiden name. As soon as I receive that information, the spatula will be headed straight to your door!!”

Mike was my very first Friend at Reverbnation and he is a hoot! His Music isn’t bad either, his band is actually himself hence... Michael Hartman AND the Appendages as he plays all of the instruments himself… and he sings too! His newest Album is also available at his Reverbnation Store.

Mike also collaborates with an extremely talented young gentleman Mark Hoevet who came on board with Devotions Recording in our first year. Now Mark’s Bio makes a bit more sense here. Mark is a Musician\songwriter from Central Nebraska. Many of Mark’s influences, leans towards the electronic Pop\rock genre without losing the versatility of different sounding material. A variety of his songs have a different influence and sound... After many years of traveling and playing in many different style bands, he’s content with writing and recording at his home studio.

Mark has a broad range of music interests and heroes. He likes anything done well, and appreciates many different artists and bands and their talent. Mark is not zeroed in on listening or writing one type of music and is very versatile. Everything you hear is done by Mark on his Korg Triton 76 and Yamaha MO8 keyboards and recorded in his 32trk basement studio, a pretty basic set up that in my opinion yields amazing work. I was so amped when I got to do a Video for these guys! So here it is…

P Eric Bailey Producer – Engineer – Musician - Friend

Classical / Alternative / New Age… P. Eric Bailey primarily produces music for the film industry. He dose however, collaborate with his musical friends from around the world at Reverbnation. On occasion P. Eric Bailey will post these collaborations on his Profile at Reverbnation. He his contributed to my song “Someone Save Me” with a live Orchestra of which he conducted, he has  and still does work with BillyD in engineering his work, and continues to work with Artists around the world because to Phill, “Music is the great peacemaker in the world.” Music crosses all barriers, races, religions, and if you let the Music move through your heart... all political and social concerns.

A humble man P. Eric Bailey makes no pretenses or puts on any sort of airs. This gentle soul has but one heart, and it is for a world that needs more Love instead of what is being presented.  He communicates best with this Love through his dynamic presentation of Music. His newest Album “Caught in The Milky Way” takes you on a journey of what could be, if Peace were the method of operation instead of being…. “Addicted To Lies.” We all have a passion that is never addressed; many of us are doing what is contrary to what we really desire deeply to do. We have become addicted to our own lies, let alone the lies we might tell each other to feel better about ourselves. In his Album “Caught in The Milky Way” he and Billy D collaborate on a song called “How I Feel…” and that’s what “Caught in The Milky Way” is really about… feelings and getting back to ones own inner feelings. Can you let go of the past? Move toward a future? Start Over? If you need encouragement than P. Eric Bailey’s Album and his Music in general is definitely what you’re looking for.

P. Eric Bailey also worked on the “Timeless” project where 7 of us came together to blend textures for an Album of the world for the world.

DevotionsRecording is so deeply grateful that this man, this professional, this dear Friend has come aboard my little adventure. And I am also grateful that he took me under his wing and educated me right before I participated in The First IndieChannel Music competition of 2012. The Song “Fire” and “Judgment By Shade Law spoken By Snordelhans” was scored, balanced, engineered correctly enough for me to be Nominated for both.

Judgment” was the Video is nominated for Best Video under $5000.00 and “Fire” for best Soundtrack. I would like to add that Derekof Feed The Fire Films has secured my foundation with Video-Film work with my program Sony “Vegas Movie Studio HD” enough for me to brave these new waters. I am completely kissed by God with good quality Friends as the ones I have at Devotions Recording. So, go visit P. Eric Bailey, you owe yourself a wonderful experience. For now listen and relax.

A Love That Breaks All Barriers Song Jaki

Jaki has unique qualities that set her apart from other ambitious singers and songwriters, her experience as a professional entertainer / singer began in L.A. California and Las Vegas. She toured various parts of the U.S.A. and solidly booked years as a lead vocalist touring Canada with "A" level circuit bands. Jaki's performance style can be described as electrifying because her stage command is complete, riveting the attention of the crowd squarely on her. In the past years Jaki has concentrated her time and effort on developing her creative talents. Now she boasts a repertoire of stimulating original songs that are the essence of who she is [loving and honest]. Most honored to work with her not only with Devotions Recording but Striking Concept Videos-Film as well.

Why is that darn Knight Productions4 Social Concern Films so Picky

I think Dave "Zaelon"says it best... "What a powerful film, check it out, listen to the music tracks and "Watch" the sections of the film for each track, you will be surprised with the visualization and your own thoughts."

Founded by Shade Law about a year ago, Knight Productions4 Film is a condensed version of the "Reverse NLP" series from her You Tube "Laws Of Expression" and "X~Ray Your Soul~1." It is more structured and more detailed with a variety of Musicians that play for a Knight Production Film. All Devotions Recording Artists that pass a standard of Music wind up in a Knight Production4 Film. The Music must pass several standards, A) it must be a SOUNDTRACK. B) the PRODUCTION QUALITY must be excellent. and C) Music CONTINUITY must fit the Film's continuity and or CONCEPT. Very few make it past these standards, what may pass a Striking Concept Film won't necessarily pass a Knight Production4 Film's need. The viewers must feel comfortable in "watching" what could be a poignant scene that helps them break free from the forced programing that does occur from the Internet to TV. Hence the "Reversal" of... "Neuro Linguistic Programing" or commonly known as "NLP" cannot take place if the project sounds or looks like all the rest out their.

Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) is an approach to communication, personal development, and psychotherapy created in the 1970s. The title refers to a stated connection between the neurological processes ("neuro"), language ("linguistic"), and behavioral patterns that have been learned through experience ("programming") and can be organized to achieve specific goals in life.[1][2] According to certain neuroscientists,[3] psychologists,[4][5] and linguists,[6][7] NLP is unsupported by current scientific evidence, and uses incorrect and misleading terms and concepts.

We are being mislead daily, even by the Music by what the corporate world 'thinks' you should listen to. Advertising is very sophisticated and is designed to control the masses to what 'they' would like you to purchase.  From Film, to Music, to what arguments you take up, to the soap you use for your hair... you better believe there is a team of Advertisers behind the product. That is Neuro-linguistic programming and the only way to "reverse" NLP is to do the opposite of what "they" want you to do, be, or say... Hence "Independent Music-Film-Videos." Note: no tits and ass are in my Films unless it makes logical sense. Note: all Music is a class act and follows scene progression. Note: each film cut makes sense to the deeper part of a person's humanity, not just the "primal instinct" or "fear factor," that Politics and Religion generally stir up to gain advantages over folks or worse yet control the populace. Note: film should make a person "STOP and THINK" for themselves, not just follow the herd off the darn cliff.

So,  "Why is that darn Knight Productions4 Social Concern Films so Picky?" Maybe it's because I care that folks do not lose anymore of themselves than they already have. And maybe it's because what you watch as a standard you tend to follow a higher and better standard if it goes beyond the need to control the masses and actually give something helpful to the masses. Thank you Feed the Fire Films, SENTIENTMIND, The Heretic, and BBC. So here is that Film that Dave was talking about. Featured work in the Film By: Beatmistresscait, Andrew Skelton, Ryo Utasato, Noise Flower, Zaelon, Shade Law all from Devotions Recording.

Thanks for your kind support, feel free to visit our Artists and see their own projects that they are working on independently from the Label. Feel free to watch any of Knight Productions4 at You Tube and subscribe if you are so inclined. And feel free to check out FEED THE FIRE FILMS, SENTIENTMIND, AND The Heretic-Snordelhans.

The Patterns of a Dance Collective

Beatmistresscait has taken on a true project of the heart. One of her songs will be introduced to an amazing group of talented unique dancers. Diane, John, Cristy, Jimmy, Orla, all core dancers with Patterns Dance Collective is looking forward to their performance in Galway Fringe Festival in July! The dance project is being inspired by two Musicians Peter Delaney and Cait Collins [our Beatmistresscait of Devotions Recording]. Fantastic music from both artists! What makes this performance unique is that the dancers themselves are dealing with "down syndrome."

Cait expressed to me in a note on Facebook; "I worked with them one Christmas gig and I cried at their joy and wonder... Let's me know that I haven't had such a hard life... Amazing Artists working in Limerick City, giving workshops and performing locally and nationally....proud to be participating musically...please share!" This performance is going to be the wonderment for us all, the profundity here is "Joy" is just a song away, or in this case a Dance away. We are proud of you Cait, your heart is so big and so wonderful Love, your label is honored to write about this amazing journey for all involved. And I am asking everyone at Google+ and Facebook, and Twitter to get the word out and follow these great kids!

Internet censorship - Who Owns The Host

Lets start with defining "Internet Censorship."

Internet censorship is the control or suppression of the publishing of, or access to information on the Internet. It may be carried out by governments or by private organizations at the behest of government, regulators, or on their own initiative. Individuals and organizations may engage in self-censorship for moral, religious, or business reasons, to conform to societal norms, due to intimidation, or out of fear of legal or other consequences.

Opinions on the topic of Internet censorship vary, with arguments being made both for and against censorship. Moreover, the extent of Internet censorship varies on a country-to-country basis. While some countries have little Internet censorship, other countries go as far as to limit the access of information such as news and suppress discussion among citizens. Internet censorship also occurs in response to or in anticipation of events such as elections, protests, and riots. An example is the increased censorship due to the events of the Arab Spring. Online hacktivist group Anonymous has expressed its opposition to internet censorship through protests and online hacking in several countries.

Censorship is the suppression of speech or other public communication which may be considered objectionable, harmful, sensitive, or inconvenient as determined by a government, media outlet, or other controlling body. It can be done by governments and private organizations or by individuals who engage in self-censorship. It occurs in a variety of different contexts including speech, books, music, films and other arts, the press, radio, television, and the Internet for a variety of reasons including national security, to control obscenity, child pornography, and hate speech, to protect children, to promote or restrict political or religious views, to prevent slander and libel, and to protect intellectual property. It may or may not be legal. Many countries provide strong protections against censorship by law, but none of these protections are absolute and it is frequently necessary to balance conflicting rights in order to determine what can and cannot be censored. But "who owns the Host Site?" What is their Political affiliation? What is their economics driven by, religious, political, or extremism? Who actually, determines what is "considered objectionable, harmful, sensitive, or inconvenient speech on the "Host" Site?"

Someone owns You Tube, FOX News, MSNBC, Facebook, MySpace, and a host of other disasters of free speech effectively getting out. What is their Political, Religious, and Social Viewpoint these are the questions that should be asked. I've seen it much too often at You Tube [and realize I like You Tube and have been their for years] my Friends having to leave then come back then leave then come back in many new forms or boldly come back as themselves. Again I see it and it's disturbing to say the least.

From Film competitions on, there is a blockage for those who hold integrity over success. Games played over the deeper message getting out. Associations held over the Artist deliverance. We don't have time for this kind of nonsense, the World needs changes. The Rock, Paper, Scissors game must end. Substance must prevail rather it is "liked" or not. Open discussions must be able to come through for it can promote healthy discussions that afford change, real change not BS change. Let's get out of the 18th Century mode of thinking with outdated laws, racial hatred, constricting view points, and bather that makes ya feel good... but arrives at nothing truly happening. Is Snordelhans rough on the Jews? Maybe he is, but maybe its time to question all forms of Religion that holds any of us down. "Independent" means something. "Indie" for short means something. It is a catalyst for Independent Thinking! Can you think for yourself? Can you see something is wrong with our World, and we all need to open our minds to changes that need to occur, if we are to survive as a world. So, Snordelhans can be found at Vimeo those 43 lost Videos are now their. My question now is for how long?

Spoken Word as a Genre

Emanating passion both on the printed page and on stage, our roster of poetry and spoken word speakers have inspired countless audiences while playing key roles in movements for social change. Their energetic presentations are guaranteed to invigorate, inspire, and create an enduring memory for audiences. Leading speakers of the world generally are Poets or Writers at heart, their passion is to educate, uplift, inform, inspire, and help move a society or world into a better mindset. When you place Music into the mix you now have "Spoken Word as a Genre." Accepted by Reverbnation honestly when I started working with....
The Heretic – Snordelhans.
All of his work is original material, it is... for lack of a better term... protest dialogue. He chooses writers from across the globe whose work is powerful and contemporary. Occasionally one comes up against true genius, like Les Visible, and then for me their is  Snordelhans. It is truth and knowledge with good music, especially chosen by Snordelhans himself for his intense research, study and productions, it's ArtAttack Reportage. Without the writers, he would be silent. Thanks to them [the writers] he speaks, and thanks to him most of us listen, hopefully before it's too late. And now a Short Film By The Heritic-Snordelhans.
YES you bet, Devotions Recording IS most Honored to have this man on our Roster.

Is It Okay for Bloggers to Ask for Donations More Web Knowledge

Bloggers for a cause

Some blogs are obviously created and maintained to support a social cause or advocacy. These are called responsible and social blogs. Usually, the bloggers claim that whatever is collected by the site will be turned over to charities or institutions that are in line with the advocacy.

There are blogs that support people. Artists who blog are often asking financial support from art advocates and supporters who do not mind helping the disciples of art, for instance. Some bloggers are just without pretension as to saying supporting them through donations is like supporting the blog so it can go on continuously.

Nothing is wrong with bloggers seeking and receiving donations from their loyal readers. It is like asking for support so the blog can be continued. Admit it or not, most bloggers keep their sites to make money. They need cash to pay their bills, buy or maintain their PCs, subscribe to Internet connection services, and so on, which are all necessary for the continuation of blog postings.

And besides, bloggers are not stealing. They are not deceiving. They are asking for how much readers will be willing to give, whether a few cents or several dollars, or more. Donations are intended to help bloggers, who have the right to spend the amount whatever way they like.

As you spend time visiting other blogs, you'll probably notice donation buttons on many blogs. Some may be obvious and say "Donate" while others could be a simple linked line of text that says, "This Cause...". While the words and appearance may vary, the purpose is the same. In each case, the blogger is asking people who read and enjoy the blog to donate some money to help keep the blog going.

You can easily set up a donation button through PayPal. Just sign up for a PayPal account and follow the simple instructions on the PayPal Donations web pages to obtain the code that will link to your PayPal account. Next, you'll simply copy and paste the code into your blog (most people do this in an easy way by putting it on the blog's sidebar so it appears on as many pages as possible).

Once the code is inserted in your blog, the donation button will appear automatically. When a reader clicks on the donation button on your blog, they'll be taken to your personal PayPal donation page. Whatever money they donate, will be deposited directly into the bank account you chose during your set up process through PayPal.

It's important to understand that a donation button is not likely to bring much revenue, but it's simple enough to add to your blog that it's worth the few minutes of effort it takes to get it up and running. Read More and Educate yourself.

Noise Flower the Real Deal

Noise Flower is Mary Anderson (creating music with catchy, tingly, often minimalistic qualities bound to make you dance or just dig it in) and Karin Beckérus (completing the songs with vocal arrangements, lyrics and voice). Karin joined Mary in august 2010 and the joint adventure has just begun!

But then there is Noise Flower as Noise Flower… here is an explosion of music at it’s finest. Beats that arouse the senses, textures of hidden notes that captivate the body, and subtleties that move the soul into other realms of being or thought. Perfect for Sountrack her Music takes on the initiative that makes one follow the scene all the way to its conclusion. Noise Flower worked with Jodie P. Floss and Shade Law directly in Jodie’s powerful, educational Short Film for taking care of Elderly dental needs. Talk about waking up a bored Staff, the short film was a success and helps health care providers expand their horizons of caring for the Elderly.

Noise Flower then went on to assist Shade in a KnightProduction Social Concern Short Film that supported “ending greed.” The project was a 7 short film project called “Microcosm the World Event” hosted at You Tube and Facebook. 7 Artists [Beatmistresscait, Andrew Skelton, Ryo Utasato, P.Eric Bailey, Zaelon, and Shade Law] participated in this series; each Artist had a section of Film to work with, each texture of Film intense in nature, and each having a message to end greed before the World goes extinct from greed. With each project that Noise Flower takes on she grows in depth, quality, and production. She’s AWESOME so lean back and relax into what is Noise Flower and you bet Devotions Recording is most honored to have her on our Roster:

The Importance of Backlinks and why NEW Musicians many times do NOT get Hooked Up

If you've read anything about or studied Search Engine Optimization, you've come across the term "backlink" at least once. For those of you new to SEO, you may be wondering what a backlink is, and why they are important. Backlinks have become so important to the scope of Search Engine Optimization, that they have become some of the main building blocks to good SEO. In this article, we will explain to you what a backlink is, why they are important, and what you can do to help gain them while avoiding getting into trouble with the Search Engines.

What are "backlinks"? Backlinks are links that are directed towards your website. Also knows as Inbound links (IBL's). The number of backlinks is an indication of the popularity or importance of that website. Backlinks are important for SEO because some search engines, especially Google, will give more credit to websites that have a good number of quality backlinks, and consider those websites more relevant than others in their results pages for a search query.

When search engines calculate the relevance of a site to a keyword, they consider the number of QUALITY inbound links to that site. So we should not be satisfied with merely getting inbound links, it is the quality of the inbound link that matters.

A search engine considers the content of the sites to determine the QUALITY of a link. When inbound links to your site come from other sites, and those sites have content related to your site, these inbound links are considered more relevant to your site. If inbound links are found on sites with unrelated content, they are considered less relevant. The higher the relevance of inbound links, the greater their quality.

For example, if a webmaster has a website about how to rescue orphaned kittens, and received a backlink from another website about kittens, then that would be more relevant in a search engine's assessment than say a link from a site about car racing. The more relevant the site is that is linking back to your website, the better the quality of the backlink.

Search engines want websites to have a level playing field, and look for natural links built slowly over time. While it is fairly easy to manipulate links on a web page to try to achieve a higher ranking, it is a lot harder to influence a search engine with external backlinks from other websites. This is also a reason why backlinks factor in so highly into a search engine's algorithm. Lately, however, a search engine's criteria for quality inbound links has gotten even tougher, thanks to unscrupulous webmasters trying to achieve these inbound links by deceptive or sneaky techniques, such as with hidden links, or automatically generated pages whose sole purpose is to provide inbound links to websites. These pages are called link farms, and they are not only disregarded by search engines, but linking to a link farm could get your site banned entirely.

Another reason to achieve quality backlinks is to entice visitors to come to your website. You can't build a website [or Blog], and then expect that people will find your website without pointing the way. You will probably have to get the word out there about your site. One way webmasters got the word out used to be through reciprocal linking. Let's talk about reciprocal linking for a moment.

Shade Law Founder of a Bunch of Stuff

I started at Reverbnation from one question to a teacher that I still work with today.... the question was.... "HOW THE HECK DO I STOP GETTING THOSE NOTES FROM YOU TUBE ABOUT MUSIC USED???!!!!" In all seriousness this was becoming annoying to the creative process of making Short Films and Videos. You see, I retired from Warner Brothers in Burbank quite a few years back, and always from childhood loved Films and their Soundtracks. I figured since I am retired, why not give it a thrill on the Internet and see what comes of it. His answer was simple at the time to my frustrated question... "Make Your Own Music," and he gave me a link to this "Reverbnation" place and a link to "Sony Acid" which is a Music Program Site and also now is the home Site to all of my High Tech Film Programs.

Lovely I thought "what am I going to do with this stuff? Well, being relatively creative in thinking, I could see how this would stop the annoying notes from You Tube who I really like, and didn't want them to toss me out behind copyright infringements. I began my daunting study with Derek of Feed The Fire Films and others [notably P. Eric Bailey Cinematic Music Producer], to try to fit the pieces together. I knew I had a grasp of what my Business Partner of Striking Concept Films-Video [Jodie P. Floss] taught me about Web Design and Conceptual presentation, and I had a grasp of what Susan Peck taught me about strong back linking and SEO.... But this! This was quite different. This was an exposure of my deeper sense of my being and heart. This was Music, and there is no hiding from emotions here. No BS if one goes deep enough into the textures of sound and what invokes those textures.

Well I was a year into Reverbnation and I was spurred on to ask my Friends their to join with me at Devotions Recording. I really didn't think they would say YES. Really I didn't, I expected to shut down Striking Concept-Devotions Recording within a week from no response. But within Minutes four showed up and not just any four The TOP in their filed of Music. Mike Heartman, Noise Flower, Beatmistresscait and Ryo Utasato showed up. Well that restarted my journey Big Time, every since then I have created more of a presence (that I can create) for my Artists-Friends and myself. These creations from Music to Short Films to Videos even to [Official Commercials] has all been to promote the very BEST in Music and Film.  The very BEST of what I Love created from Love. Enjoy it all feel free to Subscribe to this Blog, Follow the Artists here at their Reverbnation Sites, purchase anything you enjoy, download anything that is Free from the Artists here, and have FUN! Most of all "do what you Love and everything else is gravy."

BREAKING NEWS Snordelhans is now THE Voice of Reverbnation

The Heretic – Snordelhans is now at Reverbnation. Why? Because You Tube has lost their mind! This is a man who many of you know has been my inspiration to improve both my Film and Music skills.  He was the Featured Voice in my Indie MusicCompetition short Film, the catalyst for another yet to be released Film work involving "Unhinged," the motivator and encouragement factor for why Devotions Recording pushes for excellence in Sound Track Music. He is now THE Spoken Word Artist at DevotionsRecording and I am honored to have him. Listen and be educated as well as inspired:

He’s NEW so Fan him and be a good Friend because he will be…. Will you?

RYO UTASATO

In Tokyo she is "Teacher," Film Music Composer, but here at DevotionsRecording she is FRIEND. She is Ryo Utasato and she is a breath of fresh air. Her voice is like cleansing water ~ her Music is a standard I sure try to reach in Soundtrack work. Please EnJoy Ryo Utasato:

Her Cinematic Albums are here: "Surrender" and "East Meets West The Album" with Shade Law at CD Baby along with her powerful Single "Swallow" also at CD Baby.

ZAELON the Music Weaver

Zaelon used to be a mobile D J doing private functions Weddings, Birthday parties etc and then a friend gave him a music program for his computer and said “have fun” and since then he has and we are lucky for that!

Zaelon is a profound creationist of Music, his music is a breath that you breathe with and expand with. Heard of “Dream Weaver” for Films, well now there is a human “Music Weaver” for sound textures that boggle the mind and open the heart. Devotions Recording was very lucky to get Zaelon on our Roster and this is a song that clearly is how he got my attention…. Enjoy.

Open Your Mind.... his Album is here…
SIGNS OF THE ZODIAC

DANZ DMA

DANZ is a Producer, singer & song writer. She has been creating, composing, mixing and producing music, for 13 years now. For Danz music has been a form of therapy, another language that describes her deepest feelings, life experiences, desires and thoughts. Music is an expression of one’s deeper self, of which Danz goes deep within the textures of herself with her work and touches those around her work.

The more you are in touch with your inner self , the more creative you will get .

This is the song that caught my attention to ask humbly for Danz Dma to come to DevotionsRecording deep and with her interwoven complexities of Music and style well heck if you had a label you would ask her too so there hehehehe EnJoY

Special thanks to SIBOM for his beautiful work on the sound mastering for Danz.
Thank you SIBOM from Danz DMA.
